Unprofessional referee..A big question mark ????

28 March 2010

CUFC vs Tridon United. CUFC 4-Tridon 3. Today's match ended with 4 of Tridon's key players injured badly due to harsh tackles from CUFC and surprisingly the referee did not flash any cards on the opponent team at all !!! Whereas, 3 of Tridon's players were flashed yellow cards and 1 red card were flashed. Yah, tell me abt it.. One by one my players were on their knees being tackled badly and yet no yellow cards or red cards flashed on the opponent team??? What a 'Professional' referee indeed. Its a shame to Singapore soccer scenes with such poor/bad judgement from the referees. Such referees just spoilt the game. My Captain turned to me and quote "kak, with such referee, how to play?" Calmly, i told him to play on. I totally agree with my Captain. With such REFEREE in the field, its difficult to play coz the final say comes from the ref.

The red card that was flashed to one of my players is unbelievably poor judgement. Yes, the opponent was tackled but immediately the opponent stood up and shouted vulgarity words at my player. My Player just walked away without 'barking' back at the opponent. The opponent even instigate a fight with my player, but my player still walked away and yet the red card was flashed to my player ONLY??? A fair referee will flashed both players the RED card. Today, I come to a conclusion that today's referee is totally biased to Tridon United, from the kick-off whistle to the final whistle. Hopefully, the rest of the GA League participants won't get to meet today's referee as I can bet the scenes will be ugly.

As for CUFC, still stuck up as ever and I would say, luck is on their side today as 4 of my key players were injured by THEM and my number ONE keeper can't continue the game as he suffered from recurrent cramps during the game. Unprofessional players and supporters from CUFC, from last time till now.. NO change.. all they are good at are to thrashed the opponent players' legs. I personally knew CUFC from the previous Charity Match organised by myself and a few others. I wouldn't blamed their players for vulgarities as their Management themselves are as vulgar. As the saying goes, the reflection of the players comes from their Management. Would love to see BlackJack trashed them on the field. If only their game with BlackJack doesn't clash with ours, I would personally bring the whole of Tridon to watch their game and give our support to BlackJack. Hopefully, the GA League organisor read my blog and grant my wish.

Personally, and I think this will apply to all social teams, being defeated is nothing, its part and parcel of any game but being defeated with such unprofessional referee with bad judgement is unacceptable. No worries, Tridon United will come back stronger than before.

  1. Firstly SQ.. the charity match was not organised BY YOU. I should know becuase I was on the committee. It was supposedly a joint effort. But in the end majority of Logistics, Medical, even MANPOWER during the match were CUFC volunteers. Your people only came into the picture, LATE, at the END of the event. The bad blood between CUFC and yourself, started on that day by the shameful behaviour of YOUR people and not ours. Even going to the extent of the male members of YOUR committee making an sexual insult to one of our senior female members and some lewd comments and also a direct insult to my mother which still rings clear to my head. The only person that I will give face to on your team at that time is Iffa who at least put in the effort.

We moved forward. And we took it as a lesson learnt.

Wait thrashing legs? as opposed to your guys swinging elbows and i mean a deliberate elbow .. oh and the incident which one of the CUFC guys got a minor concussion? .. you complain when calls go against you.. but are quiet when they are in your favour.

On the field as a team, we might have not won over many friends.. But what happens on the field stays on the field. HAS ANY of our Family/Supporters/Team members have been inappropriate to your boys? or your team? or made lewd remarks to you and your staff members? not.. they did not.. That is the difference between US and You SQ.

. Although Injuries are part and parcel of the game, we do not enjoy the fact any of our players or our opponents get injured. But soccer is a physical game.. If you don't want physicality, play badminton. If you don't want the supporters to make any noise, or cheer during the game play billiards or golf.. a nice game of chess.

But i do agree with you on one thing.. the ref did lose control of the game, he should have been much firmer in the first half. More assertive. It would have been a more free flowing game with less heated tempers. and less injuries.

Do not go about harping and being holier then thou snowqueen. It doesn't fit you. As for Blackjack.. maybe we'd lose.. maybe we'd win.. maybe we'd draw.. we'll take it as it comes. I believe we've played Blackjack before and we've lost, so we know they're a good team. When we lose, we don't blame it on everything under the sun. We pick ourselves up and we play the next game. And I'm very sure the Tridon Boys also have that kind of spirit... So instead of further fueling bad blood.. I wish you good luck with the league.. and may our next meeting be no good terms.. with a better ref... and less flared tempers.

  2. SQ reply: Shidyar, first of all, let me introduce myself.. Effa and myself were the MAIN COMMITTEE of that Charity Match. I don't recalled any shidyar during every commitee meetings held. The ones who represent CUFC during each of our Committee Mtgs were Din Pelangi, Ronnie and Rashidi. Even during the Darul Mawa mtg, I don't recalled seeing you or ever heard your name, in that mtg CUFC representative were Din Pelangi, Ronnie, Rashidi, Zara and her hubby.. If you are the committee of your CUFC internally, then I'm not sure.

During every mtgs with CUFC, Effa was present to represent us, The Alamak, Those things that you mentioned abt logistics, medics, etc. were brought up voluntarily by CUFC during the Darul Mawa mtg. Whereas, as agreed by both CUFC and The Alamak Committee during the Darul Mawa mtg, Field, sponsorship of Darul Mawa's Jr team, beverages for Darul Mawa & supporters, Trophies, etc were supplied by Me and Effa. Eventually, in the kick-off mtg, CUFC were supposed to help us provide the field but at the very last minute, it didn't happen. So I personally called Republic Poly to book their field.

The part abt sexual insult to CUFC, as far as I knew and I did verified with Effa after reading your comments, all the committee organisors be it guys or gals was downstairs by the field. None of the organisors were up by the grand stand. There are a few hiccups between CUFC and the Alamakianz in the field itself that you were not aware. During that occasion, me and Effa have to juz brushed it away as the event has started.

The part obt thrashing legs: Before the match between TRIDON UNITED vs CUFC, outside the field by the fence, 4 of CUFC players riding 2 motorbikes juz came and that was their plan. Their words "Oh ni Tridon United, aku dgr dorang kuat." Then the other fella said "Apa lagi, makan ah kaki dorang, lagi tak tau". When they were standing there talking, they didnt realised that they were standing next to our Official.

THE REFEREE WERE NEVER IN FAVOR TO TRIDON UNITED AT ALL !! IF HE WAS, WHEN MY PLAYER GOT TACKLED AT THE CHEST, HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN CUFC THE YELLOW CARD.

When Shidyar quoted the part abt concussion, didnt she realised that she is also complaining abt injured players.. well, I am gg to quote her saying back to her which is " Although Injuries are part and parcel of the game, we do not enjoy the fact any of our players or our opponents get injured. But soccer is a physical game.. If you don't want physicality, play badminton. Well.. thats all i have to reply.

  4. SQ's reply: Sorry, i thought Shidyar is a lady.

The Rashidi that always attend to Alamak Committee mtg is the one that has left CUFC.. the one wearing specs but he didnt attend the Darul Mawa's mtg. There is another Rashidi who attended the Darul Mawa's mtg, you might be the one who came for the Darul Mawa's mtg.

Yes Agreed. TRIDON UNITED wished you and CUFC all the best in the GAFL too. May our next meeting be ON good terms with less temper and better ref.

Anyway, Tridon United might organised Futsal Tournament either later this year or early next year. This will be a competitive one-day tournament which involves 32 futsal team, OPEN category. I'm not sure and I have not decided if this is a sequel to the previous Charity Match but whatever it is, it will be solely organised by TRIDON UNITED and/or another proper event management company. Once decided, if its a sequel to the Charity Match, then all proceeds will go the selected charity organization. If not, then the prizes will go to the 1st-4th placement.

I will inform Din Pelangi on the outcome once confirmed and pass him the registration form if CUFC is interested to participate as a participant.

Thank you Shidyar for your feedback and comments.
